Tokyo Vanity Interview

Soaked: Impulse Group Houston Media & HIV Awareness Event

Hi Gems! Have you all heard of Impulse Group United? Well let me introduce! Impulse Group United was created for the LBGTQ community. Their mission is to help better educate the LBGTQ community on the awareness of HIV/AIDS and bring resources to those in need. They recently brought their talents to the Houston market, which is a big deal! Houston is home to the largest gay community in Texas and holds one of the largest gay parades in the nation.

Over this weekend I had the pleasure of working with Houston Public Relations Jordan Lee on this very exciting event. The event was a HIV testing site and free entry pool party hosted at Cle Day & Night Club. The event was so bomb! The music was great, the drinks were delicious, and the vibe was unmatched. I really had an amazing time. Impulse Group Houston provided condoms, and free HIV testing to everyone who attended the party which was the highlighted reason for this event. Oh, and let’s not forget to mention there were also special celebrity guest. Some of our favorites showed up and showed out for a great cause! Guest such as Tokyo Vanity, Lala Milan, TiTi and Kevin of VH1 Black Inc Crew. I had the pleasure of chatting with all these individual and even scored an interview with Ms. Tokyo Vanity and it was lit! She gave answers that couldn’t have been said any better! (Gems be sure to check it out more at the beginning of the article.)

It’s a humble appreciation for this group to bring this type of awareness to Houston because so many people are impacted by the unknowing status of their sexual health. Gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with other men account for 70% of the new HIV infections in the United States and more than 600,000 are living with HIV. It is very important to know your status! Thank you to Impulse Group Houston for such a necessary event! We definitely look forward to what else you have in store.
